In her last hurrah before completing a three-month internship with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Dutch national Josephine Elena Tyskke Windhorst from Lund University presented her assessment of the MDRRMO Plan.
She commended the LGU's strong planning and implementation strategies in disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery while citing one major weakness: monitoring and evaluation.
She also emphasized that the MDRRMO can make better decisions, maximize positive effects across the community, and optimize performance by closely monitoring progress and results.
Windhorst is currently taking her master's program in Disaster Risk Reduction Management and Climate Change Adaptation in Sweden.
