The Municipality of La Trinidad sent a delegation to Rosales, Pangasinan to explore the promise of a partnership rooted in shared agricultural strength and community cooperation. The visit sought to open doors for an inter-local government collaboration that would bring together the highland farmers of Benguet and the lowland producers of Pangasinan in a spirit of mutual growth.
In extending his invitation, Mayor William Cezar of Rosales offered the vision of a government - to - government trade program in which farmers from Benguet would bring their mountain-grown crops to Rosalesโ recently built Farmersโ Market, while producers from Pangasinan would reciprocate by supplying their own locally grown goods to La Trinidad. This arrangement would drive down business costs, expand market access and nurture mutual benefit for both communities.
The La Trinidad delegation was composed of members of the Committee on Sisterhood, Tourism, and Agriculture: Councilors Belmer Elis, Teddy Walang, Renato Tereng, and Richard Wacnisen. They were joined by Executive Assistant Roger Angel, Tourism Officer Valred Olsim, and Administrative Staff Denver Bastingo from the Office of the Mayor.
Following the visit, the delegation will submit their official report and recommendations to La Trinidad Mayor Roderick Awingan. Among the proposed next steps are consultations with partner stakeholders, the creation of a Technical Working Group (TWG) to plan the initiative, and the forging of a Sisterhood Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Rosales, Pangasinan.
The exploratory meeting underscores La Trinidadโs continuing commitment to fostering sisterhood relations & advancing sustainable agricultural partnerships that empower farmers & promote inter-LGU cooperation. Looking towards vast opportunities for a #Limitless La Trinidad!
