𝗗𝗢𝗟𝗘-𝗖𝗔𝗥 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗧𝗨𝗣𝗔𝗗 𝗧𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟮𝟱 𝗟𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀

The Department of Labor and Employment - Cordillera Administrative Region (DOLE-CAR) through the Baguio-Benguet Field Office has officially commenced its implementation of the TUPAD: Tuloy Pasada Program earlier today with an orientation for 225 La Trinidad transport workers.

The program is mandated under the government's Executive Order No. 011, Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food and Transport (UPLIFT), to adverse socio-economic impact of the energy emergency, thus, catering to drivers and dispatchers endorsed by five (5) local transport cooperatives in the municipality, namely: Benguet Legendary, Buyagan Express Transport Cooperative, Benguet State University and Community Multipurpose Cooperative, Pico-Puguis Transport Group, and Baguio-Trinidad Tomay Shilan Operators and Drivers Transport Corp.

The transport cooperatives initially submitted their list of affected workers to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), which was then validated and endorsed to DOLE.

On behalf of Mayor Roderick Awingan, Municipal Administrator Atty. Franco Bawang Jr. emphasized that monitoring will be observed throughout the work period with assigned TUPAD coordinators from DOLE tracking the required hours of the transport workers.

“You are very fortunate to be a part of this program, and we are happy to support you. Our TUPAD coordinators from DOLE will be with you on the ground to assure that the program operations are running smoothly,” Atty. Bawang said.

The municipality continues to support in enhancing and delivering responsive programs that provide immediate relief to workers while helping sustain vital transport services for the commuting public.
