In alleviating the effect of soaring fuel costs, the capital town, La Trinidad joined forces with DSWD Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Benguetโ€™s Crisis Intervention Section to roll out cash assistance to tricycle drivers, yesterday morning, April 16 at the Lednicky Hall.

A total of 44 members from the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) of barangays Beckel and Ambiong received โ‚ฑ5,000 each.

Seeking to provide immediate financial relief to those heavily affected, the amount released totalled โ‚ฑ220,000.

Among the beneficiaries was Sunil Wakat who stated that his aunt notified him of the payout, while he may not have a family of his own, the assistance will go a long way in covering his daily needs.

Mayor Roderick Awingan conveyed his sincerest gratitude to the agency specifically acknowledging Caroline Bayongan, Wilmarie Gomez, and Milton Hilario, for their professional excellence and dedication to the La Trinidad community.
