𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗦 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗚𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔 𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗜𝗡 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗟𝗧

Thirty-eight Boy and Girl Scouts from the different schools in La Trinidad took their oath as Scout Officials For-A-Day this morning during the flag-raising ceremony.

Taking the places of municipal officials and department heads, the SOFAD joined meetings, signed official documents, visited barangays, and lived a day in the life of their LGU counterparts.

Vice Mayor Guiller Galwan and Municipal Councilor Nestor Fongwan Jr. advised the scouts to observe the LGU’s processes and absorb as much information as possible.

“Although we do not yet hold permanent offices, we already have a powerful voice and a hopeful vision for our community. So to my fellow SOFAD officers and scouts, let us learn, serve, and show that the youth are indeed partners in progress”, shared SOFAD Mayor Avery Aidele Putac during her message of acceptance.

Mayor Roderick Awingan, despite being unwell, managed to impart his message for the SOFAD, "It overjoys me to see our youth participate in public service as young as they are. The youth are not only our future but they are our now. We can see that they have come up with simple yet impactful outputs and reflections".

Moreover, the Sangguniang Bayan SOFAD came up with four resolutions which was presented during the closing program:

1. SOFAD Resolution No. 1-2025 – “Respectfully Requesting Honorable Mayor Roderick C. Awingan to Establish a Recycling Innovation Hub or Eco-Enterprise Center in La Trinidad.” (Authored by Mardhell Marcelo)

2. SOFAD Resolution No. 2-2025 – “Strengthening the Eco-Tourism and Community Based Tourism Programs in the Municipality of La Trinidad, Benguet.” (Authored by Annicka Avi Liongson)

3. SOFAD Resolution No. 3-2025 – “Strengthening the Practice of Solid Waste Management in the Municipality of La Trinidad, in accordance with R.A. No. 9003 and related Municipal Ordinances.” (Authored by Ralf Monred Hidalgo)

4. SOFAD Resolution No. 4-2025 – “Earnestly Requesting the Teachers, School Administrators, and Students/Pupils in La Trinidad to Conduct Annual Tree Planting Activities in Areas Needing Re-greening and Reforestation.” (Authored by Shanaya Kaith Biase)
