Today, the Municipality of La Trinidad, as represented by this Office, attended the culminating activity of the 25th Signing Anniversary of the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 (RA 9003) at the Novotel Hotel, Cubao, Quezon City to receive a national recognition for our collective efforts.

We are deeply honored and humbled to be a National Awardee for implementing BEST PRACTICES on Solid Ecological Waste Management: โ€œBANTAY BASURA ADVOCATES,โ€ representing the entire Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

Recognition at this level is indeed a welcome moment for our Municipality and CAR, but more importantly, it is a testament to the dedication we have toward the environment, as stewards of Godโ€™s creation.

Thus, this award belongs to all of us --- DENR-EMB CAR under the capable leadership of Reg. Dir. Jean C. Borromeo , the La Trinidad-LGU family under Mayor Roderick Chiok Awingan, and to all eco-warrior stakeholders who continue to advocate and work for the cause of the environment.

Special mention to former Mayor and now Board Member Romeo K. Salda for having provided invaluable guidance and support and to all 169-strong Bantay Basura Advocates who give true meaning to this award and who inspire us all to continue innovating and pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve together.

Mabuhay, La Trinidad!

Mabuhay, Cordillera!
