𝗦𝗜𝗟𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗟𝗜 𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Mayor Roderick Awingan, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) chief Yoshio Labi, and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) officer Arthur Pedro recently conducted an ocular inspection of the Balili River, revealing heavy siltation accumulated along several areas over the years.

​The heavy buildup of silt compromises the river’s ecosystem and drastically increases the risk of flash floods during heavy rains. Following the assessment, local leaders emphasized that government cleanup and dredging efforts must be paired with community cooperation.

​"The state of the Balili River is a collective responsibility," Mayor Awingan stated. "We urgently need every residents, business owners, and other government and private partners to do their part in managing and protecting our waterway."

​The local government enjoins the public to actively participate in saving the river by practicing proper waste disposal, managing soil runoff from construction sites, and supporting barangay cleanup drives.
