As part of the ongoing effort to promote a safe and healthy work environment, Municipal Health Services Office (MHSO) staff underwent an Occupational Health and Safety Training last October 28, 2025.
The training emphasized safe workplace practices and hazard prevention, particularly in the healthcare setting where staff encounter various hazards at work, whether from simple contact with diseases during patient consultations to the use of medical instruments and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Workplace safety, stress management, and work-life balance were among the topics discussed to enhance employees' self-care and welfare, as well as introduce smart work habits.
The speakers also included topics on cancer awareness, including preventive measures and strategies.
The activity is in collaboration with the DOH-Center for Health Development-CAR, Provincial Health Office, and the Philippine College of Occupational Medicine (Baguio-Benguet Chapter).
The MHSO began training farmers from the different barangays in 2023 and is set to do the same for municipal employees.
