In yesterdayβs flag-raising ceremony, March 9, the municipality of La Trinidad formalized the donation of a 179 square meter lot intended for a new access road.
Victoria Tumbaga signed the Deed of Donation on behalf of her father and property owner Rufino Tumbaga.
The donated parcel serves as an essential step in improving local infrastructure. Once dialogues with adjacent lot owners are finalized, the road will eventually be connected to sitio Boted in barangay Tawang.
Victoria Tumbaga, a retired Benguet State University instructor, shared that negotiations began in September last year as residents requested entry for better mobility in the area.
Mayor Roderick Awingan expressed his profound gratitude to the Tumbaga family for their generosity and articulated that the road will reduce travel time and serve as an emergency access for the community.
To ensure the process is advantageous to both parties, Legal Officer, Atty. Victor Singa Jr. explained that the local government will facilitate and monitor the necessary documentation. This will allow the donors to receive benefits provided by law as a small gesture of the LGUβs recognition of their contribution to the common good.
