Different offices of the municipal government met for the Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) earlier this afternoon to discuss preparations for Tropical Storm Uwan.

Using data from DOST-PAGASA’s weather update, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Office (MDRRMO) reported that TS Uwan is headed directly northwest and is expected to make landfall on November 8, 2025, at 8AM, 890km east of Eastern Visayas.

Extreme rainfall is to be expected across the Cordillera Administrative Region.

Mayor Roderick Awingan said, β€œDisasters should always be taken seriously, and we must prepare as much as we can now.”

Relevant clusters have reported that all necessary supplies and materials are ready for dispatch.

Moreover, a municipal-wide binnadang activity is set for November 8, Saturday

where the sixteen barangay councils will simultaneously clean and unclog canals and waterways.

Flood hotspots like Bolo Creek will be the main area of responsibility of the LGU.

Business establishments, government and non-government organizations, people’s and community organizations, and all stakeholders are also encouraged to clean their surroundings pursuant to Executive Order No. 2025-105.

That said, the municipal government reminds the general public to remain calm but vigilant in times of disasters.

Constituents are instructed to make the necessary preparations and repairs to secure their homes, while those in high-risk areas are strongly advised to evacuate as early as possible.

The LGU shall issue earlier work and class suspensions to allow constituents to proceed home and prepare for the incoming tropical storm.
