Moving to foster sustainable communities and combat malnutrition, the Municipal Health Services Office (MHSO) led the 52nd Nutrition Month Pledge during this morning’s flag-raising ceremonies, July 6.

Celebrating the theme, β€œSa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat! Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan,” the pledge emphasizes that access to safe, sufficient, and nutritious food is a fundamental right of every Filipino, while recognizing the challenges that climate change brings to food security.

Additionally, Dr. Arlyn Namoro, Maternal, New Born and Child Health and Nutrition Cluster Head announced the tentative calendar of activities tailored to varying needs of the community.

These include:

  • July 14, 16 & 17: Nutrition in Emergency Training for Healthcare Workers, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, and Barangay Nutrition Action Officers

  • July 28: Nutri-Quiz for Elementary and High School students

  • July 24 & 31: Nutri-Fit Walk for selected LGU employees

  • July 28 & 29: Nutri-Fair at the municipal gymnasium

  • July 29: Nutri-Fora for daycare parents

Acting Mayor Guiller Galwan further encouraged the public to approach health holistically, reminding everyone that caring for one’s mental and social well-being is just as important as physical health.

The Nutrition Act of the Philippines (Presidential Decree No. 491 of 1974) declares July as Nutrition Month and designates the National Nutrition Council (NNC) to lead the national campaign.

The official activities will be posted via the La Trinidad Municipal Health Services Office page so like, follow and stay tuned for upcoming events.
