Recognizing the townβs vulnerability to hazards, LGU La Trinidad through the MCDSO and the MDRRMO, conducted a hands-on first aid and emergency response training to equip cooperative safety officers and MSMEs with emergency response skills.
The activity focused on practical exercises, ensuring participants could respond effectively in real-life emergencies. The training featured four main stations: splinting, bandaging, first aid and safe transport techniques.
During the program, Kabsat ti Ili, Mayor Roderick C. Awingan, emphasized the importance of preparedness and community resilience during his talk.
βThis training is not just about learning first aid, itβs about equipping our safety officers to act confidently when every second counts,β he said.
Meanwhile, Municipal Admin Atty. Franco G. Bawang Jr. said that the cooperative safety officer is one of the key assets of their cooperative. He added that equipping members with emergency skills strengthens not only their cooperatives but also the safety of the town as a whole.
