Turning an ordinary Sunday into meaningful service, hospitality and tourism students from Benguet State University and Kings College of the Philippines came together for a Sunday VolunTourism activity, repainting curbs along the access road of the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post. The simple yet impactful effort improved cleanliness, enhanced safety, and added a fresh visual lift to one of the municipalityβs busiest gateways.
Municipal Mayor Roderick Awingan lauded the studentsβ initiative, highlighting how youth-led actions embody binnadang, working together for the common good. He encouraged more residents, organizations, and institutions to take part in the municipalityβs ongoing beautification and environmental stewardship programs.
Acknowledging the LTVTP as a premier destination and a daily hub for traders, workers, and visitors, Tourism Officer Valred Olsim affirmed the commitment to sustain regular maintenance and collaborative activities in the area. This partnership between the youth and the local government underscores a shared vision: protecting La Trinidadβs tourism appeal through active community participation, consistent upkeep, and pride of place. .
