Due to the influx of delivery trucks ferrying vegetables at the various trading centers in La Trinidad, Mayor Roderick C. Awingan appeals to Governor Melchor Diclas to open a portion of the Stockfarm in barangay Wangal as a temporary staging area.
In a letter addressed to the governor, the mayor said the request is due to the petition of farmers and traders at the Backfill Trading area in Km. 5, asking for the additional staging area especially during times when vegetable delivery trucks flood the various trading centers.
The mayor said due to the limited parking areas and narrow streets, the group of farmers and traders request the opening of a space at the Stockfarm/Benguet Sports Complex to accommodate the delivery trucks queuing to enter the various trading facilities, including the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post, Backfill Area and at the Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center (BAPTC).
"We hope you would consider this proposal as we believe this would decongest traffic in the central business district area and ease flow of traffic thereat," the mayor stated.
The mayor is currently waiting for the response from the office of the governor.
