𝗟𝗔 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗗 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗩𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝟴𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗪 𝗡𝗚 𝗞𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗡

In a somber tribute to the heroes of World War II, the municipality of La Trinidad paid its respects today, April 9 during the 84th Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) and Philippine Veterans’ Week.

Mayor Roderick Awingan alongside, LT Chief of Police Zacarias Caloy Dausen, and the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, spearheaded the commemoration.

Floral wreaths were placed at the Jose Rizal and veterans shrine as a profound symbol of honor.

Concluding the formal program, the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station performed a 21-gun salute, the highest military honor signifying utmost respect for the fallen.

Representatives from the following organizations joined the activity to pay respect to our veterans:

• La Trinidad People's Council

• La Trinidad Women's Brigade

• La Trinidad Masonic Lodge 344

• Girl Scouts of the Philippines

• Boy Scouts of the Philippines

• Veterans Federation of the Philippines (VFP)

• VFP Sons and Daughters Association, Inc

• EAPDATS (Municipal Scholars)

• 1401st Community Defense Center with ROTCs

• Mister and Miss La Trinidad

Before the program started, volunteers from the La Trinidad Women’s Brigade, Municipal Jail, and cadets of 141st Community Defense Center joined the plalking (picking up litter while walking) and roadside cleanup operations.

MENRO Designate Arthur Pedro first oriented the participants on environmental impact of the initiative.

Honoring the land the veterans once fought to protect, the group cleared litter along Halsema Highway, covering KM. 5 to KM. 6.

To close the day’s events, veterans and their families enjoyed free beauty treats at the municipal gymnasium such as manicures, pedicures, and haircuts.
