𝗟𝗔 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗗 𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗩𝗙𝗣𝗦 𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗧

Mayor Roderick Awingan and MDRRMO Yoshio Labi took part in this year’s Volunteerism Focal Point System (VFPS) Summit held in Iloilo City from December 3 to 5, 2025.

They presented the #LTBinnadang Program and the town’s Disaster Risk Reduction Management best practices which stand as cornerstone strategies in driving the vision of a #LimitlessLaTrinidad.

During the breakout session on Sharing Best Volunteerism Practices among LGUs, Mayor Awingan shared La Trinidad’s experience in embedding volunteerism into local government operations. He highlighted the Binnadang Program as a cornerstone strategy driving the vision of a Limitless La Trinidad.

Over three days, the summit featured plenary and breakout sessions as well as talk shows designed to enhance understanding and appreciation of volunteerism. The program underscored volunteerism as a cross-cutting approach and a vital tool for advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting global peace, and supporting national and local priorities. Participants from various LGUs, the academe, business sectors, and the CSO exchanged successful practices, challenges, and strategies for effective volunteer program implementation and management.

The Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency spearheaded the event in celebration of National Volunteer Month.
