Representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development โ€“ Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD-CAR) paid a courtesy visit to the Municipality of La Trinidad to discuss potential areas of collaboration and strengthen partnerships in the delivery of social welfare services.

The meeting was attended by Mayor Roderick Awingan, Vice Mayor Guiller Galwan, Executive Assistant Atty. Delmar O. Cariรฑo, and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO) Melanie Sahoy.

Among the matters discussed was the possibility of forging an agreement for the shared use of the DSWD Regional Warehouse located in Betag, La Trinidad. The initiative aims to enhance disaster preparedness and response by providing a more centralized facility for the storage and management of relief goods and emergency supplies.

Mayor Awingan noted that access to the warehouse could help centralize the storage of relief goods and other emergency resources, strengthening the municipalityโ€™s disaster preparedness and response capabilities.

The discussion also served as an opportunity for both the LGU and DSWD-CAR to identify areas where cooperation can be further strengthened to better serve the people of La Trinidad, particularly vulnerable and disadvantaged sectors of the community.
