Over 600 attendees put on their finest ethnic attire to join the townβs Indigenous Peoples Month celebration at the Municipal Tourism facade last October 25, 2025, where the different barangays showcased their cultural presentations.
The π°πΈπͺπ¬ π΅π’π― π΅π’πΊπ’π° signalled the commencement, where municipal officials led the symbolic butchering of pigs and the dancing of the tayao.
βHan aya nga dati-dati nu ada agcan-caΓ±ao, ti kanyam lang ket ipos ti baboy. Nu sagidem jay gangsa, bawal. Han aya? Nu agtay-tayaw ka nu awan ti okasyon, bawal. But right now, masapul mariing tayo because teaching our young generation of our traditions and culture, naka sigurado tayo nga han nga mapukaw daytoy because that is our identity as people of La Trinidad. Daytoy apo ti first nga IP celebration of our term, so expect more to happen next year. We will involve more of the community because that is culture. Culture requires everyone to be involved,β shared Mayor Roderick Awingan.
In closing, Municipal Councilor- IP Mandatory Representative, Richard Wacnisen, recapped the three-day celebration, underscoring the historic first of the Indigenous Cultural Community Official For-A-Day (ICCOFAD), a Medical and Dental Mission, and the culminating activity.
Afterwards, the barangays joined the IP games with Barangay Pico dominating the team games. Winners are as follows:
