Mayor Hon. Roderick C. Awingan met with Department of Transportation (DOTr) Regional Director PBGen Glenn G. Dumlao (Ret.) to discuss the impact of rising fuel prices on the transport sector and its effects on public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers.

Joining the engagement were Municipal Legal Officer Atty. Victor B. Singa Jr. and LTMPS Chief of Police PLTCOL Zacarias Caloy P. Dausen, reinforcing the Municipality’s coordinated approach in addressing transport-related concerns.

The discussion focused on the need to secure national government support, including fuel subsidies and immediate assistance for PUV drivers, in order to ease the financial strain brought about by increasing fuel costs.

Through strengthened collaboration with DOTr and alignment of local and national initiatives, the Municipality of La Trinidad continues to work towards ensuring the stability of public transportation operations while safeguarding the welfare and livelihoods of drivers.
