AMBIONG CELEBRATES 1ST BARANGAY FOUNDATION DAY

Barangay Ambiong celebrated on September 25 its 1st Barangay Foundation Day led by Barangay Captain Frederick Tao-ing Jr. and officials together with guests Mayor Roderick Awingan and Ryan Mangusan representing the KM Ngayon Na partylist with the theme: “United in service, moving together toward a progressive and resilient Ambiong” at the Ambiong Barangay Hall.
Mayor Awingan, as the event’s guest speaker, congratulated the barangay for staging its inaugural foundation day celebration and urged the Ambiong residents to participate even in simple ways, in helping the barangay maintain its cleanliness, peace and order, and safety starting from their own homes.
The mayor encouraged the community members to join in the municipality’s binnadang (bayanihan) program, which was institutionalized as a strategy to tap into the volunteerism of each individual and groups in every barangay, showing their solidarity to make La Trinidad a better place to live in.
“The binnadang program that we launched, this is our culture. We made it into a policy so we could preserve it for this generation and the next, that is why we need to strengthen this,” Awingan said.
He said the barangay officials can only do so much in their capacity, thus every resident’s cooperation is needed to make Ambiong a resilient and progressive community, in turn, contributing to the progress of La Trinidad as a municipality.
