A total of 400 parents of daycare children filled the municipal gymnasium on July 9 in solidarity with the National Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Month, with the theme, “Iisang Nasyon, Iisang Aksyon: Tapusin ang Human Trafficking Ngayon!”.

Guest speaker Atty. Lyndon Morales, Legal Division Chief of the Commission on Human Rights, discussed key points of RA 9208, also known as the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, to equip parents with the knowledge to protect their families.

To further enlighten the participants, Atty. Morales also shared insights on cyber-related crimes and violations of children’s rights, specifically underscoring the fight against Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM).

In full support of the advocacy, Acting Mayor Guiller Galwan and Councilor Tyone Diaz graced the event, proving that the town consistently lives up to its Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance.
