ATHLETES, COACHES TO RECEIVE SPORTS INCENTIVES FROM LGU; TWG TO FINALIZE FRAMEWORK

La Trinidad athletes who are podium finishers in national and international sports events, alongside their coaches, are slated to soon obtain incentives from the capital town.

The technical working group (TWG) of the local government unit gathered today to discuss on the provisions of Ordinance No. 6-2023 or the La Trinidad Comprehensive Sports Development Code.

The TWG, comprising Chairperson Hon. Teddy Walang, Co-Chairperson Hon. Frederick Guzman, and its members, reviewed several sections of the code that needed additional directives.

Mayor Roderick Chiok Awingan, who was then the Vice Mayor authored the said ordinance together with former Councilors Atty. Apolinario Aspiras Bagano Jr. and Atty. Guiller Galwan, established the TWG to formulate the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) for the ordinance. This year, the Office of the Mayor allocated a sum of 600,000 pesos for the initial rollout of the initiative.

Once the IRR is finalized, the sports coordinators of the municipality, led by Municipal Administrator Atty. Franco Bawang Jr., will begin accepting applications for the said purpose.
