As part of Mayor Salda’s agenda to empower youths in the municipality, the LT Youth Development Office and SK officials conducted a benchmarking visit to the City of San Fernando, La Union’s youth office and teen center last April 24-25.

Dr. Jerome G. Acupan, Youth Development Officer IV, shared their practices on youth services and flagship programs:

Additionally, San Fernando City’s Youth Office has been consistently Seal of Good Local Governance compliant from 2021 to 2023, and an Outstanding LYDO Awardee in 2024.

The City LYDO team is composed of 1 unit head and 6 staff members.

In La Trinidad, the LYD Office consists of a designated LYD Officer and 1 JO staff member. The plantilla position for the LYD Officer is expected to open this year, as it is a mandatory position under RA 7160 and RA 10742.

The delegation also visited the Office of the Sangguniang Panglungsod and the Gregorio “Bunog” R. Hufano Session Hall through the assistance of Dr. Joseph M. De Guzman, Secretary to the Sangguniang Panlungsod, and Steven A. Angelo, OSSP Staff.
