Transparency, accountability and efficiency were the core objectives of the recently concluded Budget Forum, held on July 22, where over 40 representatives from the offices of the local government unit gathered to strategize the townโs fiscal future.
Kicking off the orientation, Charlie Quimson of the Treasury Office explained that the municipalityโs target income for next year is โฑ820.9M, coming from Tax and Non-Tax Revenue, the National Tax Allocation (NTA), and shares from National Wealth.
In his message, mayor Roderick Awingan encouraged the participants, saying that while the workload is demanding and meticulous, the future of La Trinidad lies in their hands to ensure an impactful and productive 2027.
Meanwhile, Budget Officer Imelda Grupo shed light on Municipal Budget Memorandum No. 1-2026, which sets the guidelines on the preparation and submission of the 2027 Annual General Fund Budget Proposals of all offices.
Civil Society Organization (CSO) representative Freda Gawisan, speaking on behalf of the women, senior citizens, and Peopleโs Council, was also present, bringing in community participation and involvement.
To wrap up the event, offices and units were mentored through the budget cycle and preparation forms before working on and presenting their Annual Investment Plan (AIP) and supporting documents.
