The Shilan Community Tourism Village has been selected as a beneficiary of the DURE Farm Tourism Development Project from the Government of South Korea through the Korea Tourism Organization.

The village, composed of the Ayonna Mini-gallery, Garden nΓ¨n Ines, Darjane’s Garden, and Kiyomie’s Garden, Martin’s Hobbit House, and many more tourist attractions, shall receive assistance in product development, marketing, and capacity building.

Specifically, the project aims to assist in the creation and enhancement of tourism products that reflect the unique cultural and natural heritage of Barangay Shilan, support promotional efforts to increase visibility and attract more visitors to the area, and provide resources to empower local stakeholders in managing tourism initiatives.

The term β€œDure” is a Korean word that refers to a traditional community labor system where communities help each other with farming to increase efficiency and share workload.

The Shilan Community Tourism Village emerged as the second best in last year’s regional Search for the Best Tourism Village.

On behalf of the municipal government of La Trinidad, Mayor Roderick Awingan congratulates Barangay Shilan on its outstanding accomplishment and unwavering commitment to preserving and cultivating the locality’s legacy and heritage.
