BATAG NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH GROUP TAKES OATH

Barangay Betag adds to the growing list of members of the municipal government unit-led Neighborhood Watch Group as volunteers from the barangay took oath this August 28 at the Multipurpose Building Km. 5 parking lot. Mayor Roderick Awingan administered the oath of the group as witnessed by Police Major Mark Botangen of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, who later gave an orientation about the partnership of the volunteer group with the police.
Awingan said the La Trinidad Neighborhood Watch Group, as part of his flagship programs in the municipality, is part of the empowerment of the community to take part in maintaining peace and order and safety in their respective areas. He said the NWG takes the binnadang (aduyon in Ibaloy, bayanihan in Filipino) concept applying it at the core of the group’s operation.
Also present during the oath taking are Betag Barangay Captain Monaliza Comila and NWG Focal Person Hilda Obar. A total of 22 members joined from Betag while two volunteers from Barangay Shilan also joined the oath taking and orientation.
