BHWs AS PuroKalusugan CHAMPIONS

A total of 𝟗𝟔 𝐋𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 (𝐁𝐇𝐖𝐬) were trained on the 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 on 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟒-𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, in the Provincial Engineering Office Conference Hall, further enhancing their skills as on-the-field 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 (𝐇𝐄𝐏𝐎𝐬).

PuroKalusugan is a strategy to fast-track the achievement of the 8 Priority Health Outcomes identified by the Department of Health: 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡, 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐇, 𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐈𝐕, 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲, 𝐍𝐨𝐧-𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 (𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐇𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬), 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐨𝐧-𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 (𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫).

The topics discussed during the training consisted of 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐇𝐖 𝐏𝐊 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥, 𝐏𝐊 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞, a deep dive into PuroKalusugan, the roles and responsibilities of BHWs in PuroKalusugan, and Interpersonal Communication.

After a demonstration from the facilitators on how the Job Guide is used, the BHWs also engaged in learning through a return demo. The training does not only increases the knowledge of the BHWs, but also enhances their facilitating and communication skills. The Job Guide aims to assist the BHWs during IEC campaigns in the community to promote the practice of healthy habits and encourage constituents to make healthy choices. It overall aims to increase health literacy.
