𝗟𝗧 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗔’𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺

Out of the 29 graduates of TESDA’s Community Based Training Program on bread making, there are 25 senior citizens who proved that learning never stops.

The graduates were recognized last July 16 at Nazarene, Pico for completing the six-days training which is the basic step towards the Bread and Pastry Production National Certification (NC) II.

Mayor Roderick Awingan lauded the graduates especially the senior citizens for showing interest in the training, stating that they are an inspiration for the younger generation to continue learning new skills.

“When you go back to your homes and apply what you learned, then this program is successful,” Awingan said.

Technical Education And Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Benguet Director Arlene Cadalig also recognized the initiative of the municipality for implementing the “TESDA local” which is an LGU-led training.

“We rely on the suggestions of the LGU’s on the kind of training they need. Then we provide the supplies needed. We hope this training would help you,” Cadalig said.

Some of the participants shared their impressions on the training stating that aside from the bread making skills, they have learned how to be patient in working out and waiting for the fruits of their labor--the freshly made breads out of the oven--and enjoy it as well.

Also present during the event were Phil. Nazarene College President Rev. Allan Prado who committed to partner with the municipal LGU, trainers including Melanie Kimbungan, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Elengy Bolidi.

The graduates will look forward to pastry production and cake making as the next steps in their learning. #LimitlessLaTrinidad
