𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗱

A total of 30 doctors and nurses from the municipal local government unit underwent a one-day symposium led by the Municipal Health Services Office (MHSO) under Municipal Health Officer Dr. Antonette Agpas with the theme: “From guidelines to lifelines: Mastering hypertension, diabetes, and ECG interpretation” on June 25 at Jack’s Restaurant, Km. 6.


The LGU’s medical personnel listened to various topics including “Hypertension: Pressure Under Control” discussed by Dr. Steivy Tiwaken and “Diabetes: Sweet Facts, Serious Impact” by Dr. Charisse Ferrer both medical officers from Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC). Dr. Gladys Navarro of the Benguet General Hospital also discussed “ECG Interpretation: Reading Between Beats during the event also facilitated by Dr. Genevieve Wagang-Degay, the Non-Communicable Disease Cluster Head of the MHSO.


Mayor Roderick Awingan urged the medical personnel to strategize on how to make the health-related information readily available to the community for better understanding and appreciation, to help make the municipality healthier.
