𝗟𝗧 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗥𝗦 𝗕𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗙𝗜𝗧 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗡𝗖𝗦𝗖 𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗡

Moving to intensify welfare services for the elderly, the municipal government through the La Trinidad Officials’ Spouses Association (LATOSA) partnered with the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) for a caravan program at the municipal gymnasium today, July 2.

Baguio Association of Senior Citizen Organization Secretaries, Inc. (BASCO) officers and members assisted the registration of senior citizens under the coordinating body and catered to the concerns of over 200 clients.

In support of the program, NCSC-CAR Regional Director Atty. Luz Laureta-Balisong discussed the agency’s mandate in providing “ayuda” in terms of services such as providing assistive devices like canes and walkers, as long as beneficiaries are registered under the coordinating body.

“Kayat tayo nga bumaba dagijay programa ti national government, tapnu maymaya iti biyag ti senior citizens tayo. Rest assured, your LGU will maintain a strong relationship with NCSC,” affirmed mayor Roderick Awingan.

Echoing this pledge, LATOSA representative November Diaz Ramos shared that the event aimed to pave the way for additional, continuous support from the national administration, ensuring that the grassroots are well-informed of this assistance.

Meanwhile, BASCO President Vivian Marie Almoite Wa-ay also offered basic eye check-ups and gifted eyeglass frames to lucky participants.

The NCSC’s banner programs include the Expanded Centenarians Cash Gift Benefit (RA 11982), Senior Citizens Center, #EDADVANTAGE Livelihood Opportunities for Seniors, and the National Senior Citizens Digital ID.
