CONTINUING TALKS ON HIGHLAND VEGETABLE SMUGGLING

Mayor Roderick Awingan, together with the affected farmers and traders of the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post led by its representative Augusta Balanoy and Brenda Shagol of the Cordillera Broccoli Traders and Farmers Association, sat with the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Benguet during its discussion on the status of vegetable smuggling particularly of broccoli in La Trinidad and nearby Baguio City on October 12. Broadcast journalist Ben Tulfo and his staff from Bitag Media Unlimited Inc. were also present during the discussion on the continuing issue on illegal importation of vegetables in the province and its effect on the highland vegetable industry, both on the farmers and consumers.
