To wrap up the week-long festivities of the 9th La Trinidad Coffee Festival, the participants and winners were recognized last February 20 at the municipal grounds.

“While we acknowledge the struggles and challenges of being a coffee farmer, we must continue to amplify programs so that more youths are encouraged to continue the La Trinidad legacy,” shared Benguet Board Member and former Mayor Romeo Salda.

Winners and participants received cash prizes and plaques.

The best three coffee farms also secured knapsack sprayers, raincoats, work boots, and a roll of black net for coffee drying.

“Ti pinaka importante, uray ageskwela da, adalen da amin nga teknolohiya ti panag kape, nu awan iti agfarm ken daga, isu ti challenge na. Nu siyak nga ubbing nga nagrugi, idi naka lako ak, na encourage diyay riknak. Isunga mayat ti agmula ti kape,” explained Joseph Carlos, Best Coffee Farm Champion, on inspiring hope in agriculture for the youth.

Norma Sodkit, Coffee Quality Champion, disclosed that her winning beans underwent harvesting, peeling, and grinding by hand.

“Siyak ti agburas, agbilag, ken maysa-maysa nga pilien,” she added.
