𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻

The different women's organization coming from the 16 barangays of La Trinidad, Benguet gathered together this June 26 at the municipal gym for the one-day symposium on women empowerment, as part of the week-long 1st Equality Expo of the municipality.

Mayor Roderick Awingan commended the different women's organization for their continuing support in advancing the women's sector, and assured them that the local government is always there to partner with them in their endeavors.

Councilor Teddy Walang, in his closing remarks, reminded the women to make sure that with the reorganization of the Federation of La Trinidad Women's Organization, all women from the various sectors shall be represented well.

Walang said part of the commitment of the Sangguniang Bayan in supporting the women's sector is its proposed ordinance, on second reading, on the "Institutionalization of Women Sectoral Representation in the Sangguniang Bayan".

"We consider you as a partner, without your efforts and dedication for the advancement and interest of the women’s sector, we will not be able to move forward to promote the welfare of women," Walang said.

Councilor Nestor Fongwan, Jr. also gave his message of support to the federation while Lorna Yaco from the Department of Education - Benguet Division gave an inspirational talk during the event, aimed at empowering women to take their part in the community.
