DOH USEC. DOMINGO VISITS LA TRINIDAD FOR IMMUNIZATION ACTIVITY, ADVOCATES NUTRITION

To observe the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA) implementation in La Trinidad, DOH Undersecretary Dr. Albert Francis Domingo paid a visit to Mayor Roderick Awingan on August 13.
Apart from the ongoing immunization program that aims to prevent outbreaks, Mayor Awingan and Municipal Health Officer Dr. Anthonette Agpas shared the townβs current challenges such as the rising obesity cases of children aged 5 years old and below and the lack of health centers.
In response, USec. Dr. Domingo offered guidance on drafting proposals and preparing key documentation, agreeing to lobby for the municipalityβs priority projects at the national level.
Accompanying USec. Dr. Domingo was DOH-CAR Regional Director Dr. Amelita Pangilinan, Benguet Provincial Health Officer Dr. Meliarazon Dulay, Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Bella Basalong, Immunization Program Coordinator Nurse Joyce Rillorta and other dignitaries from the Regional and Provincial Health Offices.
Also serving as the Executive Director of the National Nutrition Council, USec. Dr. Domingo made a quick stop at the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post to inspect local produce while promoting healthy, grassroots nutrition.
