DSWD, La Trinidad LGU Strengthen Partnership on Relief Pre-Positioning

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) OIC Regional Director, Engr. Enrique H. Gascon, Jr, met with Mayor Roderick Awingan this morning to discuss strengthened collaboration on disaster preparedness and response.
Both parties agreed on the pre-positioning of Food and Non-Food Items (FNFIs) to ensure immediate availability and faster distribution during emergencies.
Officials from both the DSWD and the local government emphasized that they share the same vision and core mandate of serving the people through the provision of immediate assistance when needed.
The spirit of binnadang was also highlighted during the meeting, which, according to the mayor, remains strong in the municipality and continues to guide community cooperation and mutual aid, especially during times of crisis.
Present during the discussion were the SWAD Team Leader, Ms. Alleane Kae Sagun and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, Ms. Melanie S. Sahoy, who both expressed full support for the initiative and ongoing coordination efforts.
The DSWD also vowed to continuously augment local resources as needed to ensure timely and adequate response to affected communities during disasters and emergencies.
