DUTCH FLORAL EXPERTS EYE LT FOR INNOVATION PARTNERSHIP

Mayor Roderick Awingan and Vice Mayor Guiller Galwan welcomed Dutch growers Oscar Niezen, Mike Wismeyer, and Mickey Hogervorst at the municipal hall yesterday to discuss a potential partnership aimed at elevating the town’s cut flower industry.

The collaboration focuses on technology transfer to enhance flower quality and the establishment of pilot testing sites in local farms.

The visiting experts are particularly interested in our roses and hydrangeas, also locally known as milflores. They are currently visiting farms in barangays Bahong and Alapang to assess growing conditions and agricultural practices.

Mayor Awingan warmly received the proposal, noting that such an international collaboration could significantly boost the competitiveness of farmers in the global market.
