The 14th Regional Community Defense Group (14RCDG), reserve command of the Philippine Army, recently honored Mayor Roderick Awingan as an outstanding stakeholder during its 9th anniversary celebration on June 13 at its Headquarters at Sitio Bahawit, Poblaciรณn West, Lagawe, Ifugao.
The mayor, represented by his private secretary Roger Angel, was recognized due to his issuance and implementation of Executive Order No. 36, declaring September 1 as "Araw ng Laang-Kawal Pilipino" and the observance of the week-long "Linggo ng Laang-Kawal" from September 2 to 10 each year.
"Your leadership in issuing Executive Order No. 36 for the Municipality of La Trinidad, Benguet reflects your commitment to public service, community welfare, and inter-agency collaboration. This initiative has supported key programs, including blood donation drives and humanitarian activities contributing to the safety and well-being of the community," the plaque of recognition read.
Other stakeholders were also honored during the event with the theme: โNine Years of Unified Commitment to Building a Stronger, More Capable Cordilleran Reserve Force" led by 14th RCDG Head Col. Oscar Balignasay Jr., with guest of honor B/Gen. Patricio Tomales, Deputy Commander of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army.
