To efficiently manage its response actions and resources to address the impacts of the emergency socioeconomic crisis affecting La Trinidad, the municipal inter-agency task force convened yesterday.

Various national and local government offices, along with representatives from the barangays, academe, business, and civil society organizations, have reported their initial and ongoing efforts to alleviate the challenges posed by the crisis.

One of the key strategies discussed was the prioritization of resource allocation to ensure that the most affected communities receive the necessary support promptly. The meeting also emphasized the importance of a coordinated approach in tackling the crisis, recognizing that each sector plays a crucial role in the overall response effort.

Mayor Roderick Awingan, who leads the task force, stated that the local government unit has been diligently roaming around to national agencies to request support for the municipality’s vulnerable sectors.

“We successfully obtained support that includes food packages, cash assistance, machineries, and manpower, among others. We will maintain our collaboration with agencies and other partners to enhance the strategies implemented by the LGU.” he said.

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Guiller Galwan serves as co-chairperson, alongside the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, who act as sectoral and functional committee chairpersons within the group.

Other highlights of the event included the orientation on the duties and functions of the task force members, and initial discussion on the sectoral plans.

The sectoral and functional committees have arranged their group meetings in the coming days to ensure that the challenges facing their sector are addressed with appropriate interventions.

Engr. Vicente Perez, the Head of the Secretariat and the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, conveyed his appreciation to all participants for their dedication in tackling the crisis. He reiterated the municipality's commitment to collaborating closely with all sectors.
