Benguetโ€™s capital town, La Trinidad, is abuzz with festivities as it joins the province's 125th Founding Anniversary through the Grand Caรฑao and Civic Parade yesterday, November 23, 2025.

As the delegations took off from the Provincial Capitol, representatives from each municipality took part in the depap, the catching of pigs within an enclosure, and then carried them off to another area for the shawat tan owik, the ceremonial butchering.

All thirteen municipalities erected tents to signify their participation and mark the beginning of the communal food sharing.

Mayor Roderick Awingan, Vice Mayor Guiller Galwan, and the rest of the municipal officials led the dancing of the tayaw and the kinadaring.

The municipal government of La Trinidad prepared meals for 3,000 people to ensure a welcoming atmosphere.

The crowd-drawing event symbolizes the transcendent spirit of Adivay, where every tribe and tongue finds a place at the table.
