La Trinidad is working to make its healthcare system more inclusive by combining traditional healing practices with modern medicine. Through a partnership between the Municipal Health Services Office and the DOH-CAR ITAHC Program, Mayor Roderick C. Awingan and Dr. Antonette P. Agpas have committed to a service model that respects complementary alternative medicine.

Pursuant to RA 8423, also known as the Traditional and Alternative Medicine Act, the municipality aims to keep healthcare services such as maternal care and general check-ups—accessible and holistic. This method treats health as a balance of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being that aligns with community values. For the residents of La Trinidad, this transition provides a healthcare system that supports local identity while maintaining standard medical quality.
