Aside from the personal visit, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. also directly purchased from farmers at the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post (LTVTP), earlier today, April 17.

Paying with cash, the Office of the President bought a total of 6,000 kg with an estimated worth of around ₱200,000.

The buses and trucks were loaded with various vegetables such as cabbage, Chinese cabbage (Wombok), sayote , radish, potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, cucumber, beans, Garden peas, and lemon.

The produce will be transported to marginalized communities in Metro Manila, such as transport groups, city jails, and selected orphanages.

Mayor Roderick Awingan alongside Market Supervisor Janice Alleg voiced their immense gratitude while also lobbying stronger reinforcement for the welfare of local producers.

President Marcos, Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu-Laurel Jr. and DA-CAR Regional Director Atty. Jennilyn Dawayan also made their way to the Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center (BAPTC) to provide agricultural equipment to Benguet farmers.
