The Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMAg) led the third quarter meeting of the members of the Organic Participatory Guarantee System (OPGS) on Sept. 16 at the Strawberry Valley Hotel and Restaurant at the Strawberry Farm, Betag. Mayor Roderick Awingan urged the representatives of the various farms and organic groups in the municipality to continue learning on how to increase their yield to keep up with the demand of organic produce outside of the municipality. He said the municipal LGU through the Omag is working on marketing and expanding of the organic agriculture industry in the valley, which is one of the first towns that produced organic vegetables in the country.
