The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration-Cordillera Administrative Region (OWWA-CAR) delivered its "Alagang OWWA" program through a Calamity Relief Assistance distribution to 1,792 beneficiaries last October 30, 2025, at the Municipal Tourism Building facade and Municipal Gym.

Following the municipality's official declaration of "State of Calamity" in July 2025 due to the tropical cyclones, the program aimed to assist and aid Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their registered dependents, specifically catering to both active and inactive OFWs.

The relief packs contained basic commodities such as 5 kilos of rice, canned goods, and instant noodles. Beyond the food aid, the team also distributed necessary medicines.

The implementation was conducted in coordination with the local government unit, particularly leveraging the assistance of its Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and, at the same time as the Migrant Desk Office (MDO) of La Trinidad.

Mayor Roderick Awingan said that this inter-agency effort ensures the efficient distribution of much-needed government assistance.

OWWA-CAR also confirmed that a second wave of relief distribution will be scheduled at a later date to accommodate beneficiaries who were unable to receive assistance during the event.
