HEROISM IS NOT A ONE-DAY HOLIDAY

Today’s National Heroes Day celebration in the valley took a potshot at corruption in government projects while hailing the frontliners who risk their lives to save others during calamities.

As the ceremonial wreaths were laid, speakers of the day’s event challenged everyone to become heroes everyday, focusing their messages on dedicated public service, perseverance, and unity among local officials, citizens, and stakeholders.

Mayor Roderick Awingan underscored "binnadang" (the local culture of communal unity and cooperation) as a profound form of everyday heroism, stating, "all of us become heroes if we perform our duties and responsibilities." Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Guiller Galwan highlighted the local government unit's (LGU) unyielding commitment to serving the citizenry, even within its limited resources.

La Trinidad’s local officials, members of the Philippine Army, sons and daughters of veterans, PNP and members of the masonic lodge were one in calling for a kind of heroism these days that respond to the needs of the communities.

• 1401st RCDG Director and members

• Boy Scouts of the Philippines

• Youths from the different organizations

• La Trinidad Women's Brigade
