In a bid to foster inclusivity and empower the youth, the improved Local Youth Development Office was officially turned over from the Department of Interior and Local Government-Benguet (DILG) to the local government of La Trinidad, earlier today, February 24.

Allocated from La Trinidad’s Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund the project is worth 1.14M to accommodate the locality’s growing youth population.

Located at the third floor of the 2002 Public Market, the improvements include the flooring, walls, indoor windows, and ceiling, including two air conditioners.

The office also features a separate office, a conference hall, and a private room for counseling sessions.

Mayor Roderick Awingan and Vice Mayor Guiller Galwan reassured that the office’s improvement is another step closer in aiding the youth to attain their full potential.

On behalf of DILG Regional Director Atty. Anthony Nuyda, Provincial Director Daisy Payang attended and delivered the RD’s message of congratulations and support saying that the youth are not only beneficiaries but also partners in development.

The municipal government also anticipates the appointment of a new Local Youth Development Officer (plantilla position) this year.
