LA TRINIDAD SENIORS BUILD DISH GARDENS, TERRARIUMS MAINSTREAMING WORKSHOP

Fostering inclusive access to livelihood skills and mental wellness, eighty senior citizens gained hands-on experience in a terrarium-making and dish gardening workshop at the municipal gym on August 20.
Ornamental Division Chief Dr. Alma Amado of Benguet State University-Horticulture Research and Training Institute (BSU-HORTI), together with Dr. Leila Mary Ayban, Unit Chief of the Landscaping and Environmental and Aesthetic, guided the participants through the creative and technical process.
In his message, Mayor Roderick Awingan underscored emotional well-being as a core component of overall health.
Meanwhile, BSU-Gender and Development (GAD) Director Jude Tayaben emphasized the value of empowering senior citizens through accessible and inclusive programs.
The event culminated with participants creating their own miniature gardens and ecosystems, which they brought home as tokens.
