LT BOXER PRESENTS KO WIN TO MAYOR

Coach Jake Naboye (left) together with 19-year old professional boxer Kelly Sanggoy (2nd from l) of Mabikas Boxing Team presented the award of the latter to Mayor Roderick Awingan on July 29.
Sanggoy won by technical knockout on the second round of his non-title bout against Angel Carriedo at the Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex, Paranaque City on July 25. The event was organized by the Elorde International Boxing Promotions and sanctioned by the Games and Amusement Board.
He now stands with a one win and one loss record; the latter when he lost to Angelo Melpino via unanimous decision in his professional boxing debut on March this year.
Sanggoy, of Upper Cogcoga in Barangay Pico, started his amateur boxing career when he was 17 years old and worked his way until becoming a professional boxer early this year.
He is currently finishing his junior high studies through the Alternative Learning System (ALS) while balancing working part-time in construction and training for his boxing bouts under the tutelage of coach Naboye.
Naboye is currently handling 15 athletes, in which four are professional boxers, who are conducting their training at the Royal Fitness Hub.
Mayor Roderick Awingan praised Sanggoy and Naboye for their achievement and assured them of the assistance from the municipal LGU in any way it can to support the young boxer, and other athletes that represents La Trinidad in the local and international boxing ring.
