LT IS BACK-TO-BACK 'KONTIS NI DUTO' CHAMPION

The 'Sweet and Sour Kiniing tan Duting' dish of Pitaco Cafe, whipped up by its owner Corazon Pinas and chef Sherwin Palma, bested other municipalities during the ‘Kontis Ni Duto’ cook-off in celebration of the Benguet Provincial MSME Week.

Last year, La Trinidad's Etag TV Resto triumphed the same feat with their famous ‘Pinikpikan with Etag’ Dish.

The secret recipe of the winning culinary masterpiece maintains the rich cultural heritage of the municipality and Benguet as a whole. Soon gracing the menu at Pitaco Cafe, this dish marries homegrown veggies with kiniing.

During the deliberation, the judges lauded its harmony of flavor components, texture and visual presentation.

This dish takes its cue from the delightful ‘Duting tan Dukto’ feast, a culinary attraction during La Trinidad’s Strawberry Festival.

The Office of the Municipal Mayor, through its Economic Development and Investment Promotions Services and MSME Services Section, were tasked to assist the participants.
