Mayor Roderick Awingan attended the opening program on October 12 of the CPAG (College of Public Administration and Governance) Week with the theme: “Public Administration in Action: Driven by Integrity, Empowered by Innovation” happening at the Benguet State University until Oct. 16.

The mayor, as the event's guest speaker, encouraged the students to do their best in pursuing their studies as this will lead them to more opportunities in the future.

"In studying public administration and governance you are thinking about people, whether you end up in the government or in the private sector, you will always encounter people so it's not about you, but it’s the people you will serve at the end of the day," Awingan, who took up his masters in Public Administration in BSU, said.

CPAG Dean Atty. Julie Binaldo-Velasco lauded the mayor, who is her student then, for his outstanding performance as a public official in serving the locality of La Trinidad through the years, and becoming a model to the students who aspire to be in public service.

Also present during the event were Comelec-Cordillera Director Atty. Julius Torres, Comelec-Cordillera Assistant Director Vanessa Roncal, and Comelec La Trinidad Election Officer Atty. Grace Faustino.
