The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) chaired by Mayor Roderick Awingan and co-chaired by MDRRM Officer Yoshio Labi led the third quarter meeting on Sept. 8 at the MDRRM Office.

The council agreed on giving priority funding for the immediate rehabilitation of identified roads and pathways in the valley, which were heavily-affected due to the effects of the previous tropical cyclones Luis and Maymay and the enhanced Southwest monsoon. Labi also discussed the 2027 local disaster risk reduction and management fund investment plan while MDRRMO personnel Elaine Lidab discussed priority rehabilitation and recovery programs, projects, and activities for funding under the quick response fund and Dave Montes discussed the legislations, ordinances and policy recommendation for the council.

The concern on class and work suspension was also brought out during the meeting, with the mayor stating that his office will soon release an administrative order that will serve as a guide for the inter-agency members of the MDRRMC during typhoons and heavy rains.
